Curry Cup 2011

Boston Gymkhana (BGSC) successfully hosted the club's annual event - Curry Cup 2011 on Oct 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.  On Oct 16th, final cricket match was held along with a celebration with family and friends.

Annual Invitational Curry Cup is Boston Gymkhana’s signature event which is a celebration of friendship and the spirit of cricket.  As part of this event, BGSC hosts cricket teams, friends and families, children and coworkers and other guests from the community. Now in its fourth year, this event built on the grand success of Curry Cup in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The tournament lasted for two weekends, with the final day of the tournament (October 16th), attracting the most people (approx. 400). This year, eight teams participated in an ultra-competitive Annual Invitational Curry Cup. 

In addition to a game of cricket, the Annual Invitational Curry Cup event which is a free event to all featured free food such as authentic South Asian cuisines and entertainment such as music, live commentaries, games for participants of all age groups.  Further, BGSC provided complimentary food such as breakfast, lunch and dinner to all players, participants and attendees over the duration of the event.  For example, during the Annual Curry Cup Event in 2010, over 1,000 complimentary meals were served by BGSC over four days of the event.  Thus, Annual Invitational Curry Cup provides the perfect excuse to bring the entire Boston Gymkhana members both current and erstwhile and our opponents on the cricket field, their friends and families together and celebrate the camaraderie and the relationships. It provides an opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy the company of our friends and family. A time to ponder and appreciate the patience and understanding of our friends, wives and family, who allow us to play the game of cricket that we all love so much.
